Exams are finished - and so am I...

So - die letzte Pruefung ist erledigt - genau wie ich auch. Ich habe den Pruefungssaal nach einer Stunde verlassen ohne wirklich auch nur eine Frage beantworten zu koennen. Ich war so damit beschaeftigt, wach zu bleiben, dass ich keinen klaren Gedanken fassen konnte und schon gar nicht in die Tiefen von Formalen Spezifikationen/Methoden oder objektorientierter Modellierung eintauchen konnte. Ging einfach nicht. Totaler Blackout.

Damit ist zumindest eines sicher - diese Pruefung habe ich versaut. IT Carlow hat mich somit im Herbst wieder - fuer die Wiederholungspruefungen.

Nein, ich bin keineswegs stolz auf mich was diese Pruefung angeht - auch Nacht-Lern-Session hat nicht wirklich viel gebracht - es war einfach zu viel zu lernen. Die Muedigkeit hat alles nur noch schlimmer gemacht.

Ich geh' jetzt heim, nehm' ne Muetze Schlaf und danach geht's ins Pub - die Festplatte plattmachen ;-)

Ah ja, gestern hab' ich Dennis, meinen ehemaligen Mitbewohner aus Dublin, getroffen - im Scragg's. Es gab ein grosses Hallo, ein gemeinsames Pint vom Black Stuff und viele Erinnerungen an die gute alte Zeit. Dennis sucht nen Untermieter fuer ein Zimmer in Malahide - krass, oder? Waere doch lustig, wenn die alte Gang (teilweise) wieder zusammenkommt.

Well ... here goes the last exam. I left the examination hall after 1 hour as I had not been able to focus on anything. I was so busy keeping awake that I could not even finish one line of thought let alone answer questions on formal methods or OO-Modelling.

So if anything's for sure then that I've failed this exam. Back for the repeats in August.

No, I'm not proud of myself and I probably shouldn't have studied all night which didn't help much in the first place as it was just too much to groke during a single night, and the fatigue only added to my misery.

But anyway, EXAMS are OVER (for the moment). I'll go home now and get some sleep before I'm heading out to the pub later to defragment and free up my brain for the tasks to come during the next weeks and months.

Met Dennis yesterday in Scragg's - big hello, had a pint together and it turned out that he's renting out a room in Malahide. Wouldn't that be crazy ... part of the old gang reunited? Actually looking forward to it. Have to stay on the Isle for the repeat exams anyways.

Mein Haus wird immer leerer, die Jungs ziehen einer nach dem anderen aus. Inzwischen geht der Streit um die Kaution los, die Vermieterin will ne Reinigungsfirma holen.

Im Moment muss mir das Wurscht sein, nach nem Kaiserschmarrn-Fruehstueck mit Cáit bin ich rueber zu Tim und Hauke zum pauken gegangen.



The lads are moving out and the house is getting empty. Meanwhile the struggle for the deposit is on. The landlady thinks the house is a dump and wants to get the cleaners in.

I couldn't be bothered for the moment... had Austrian pancakes with Cáit and went to SG52 to study with Tim and Hauke.
I can't wait to have this exam finished and get locked tomorrow.

One more exam to go ...

Bin gerade aus Software Engineering 1 raus und es war einfach nur katastrophal. Die Pruefung hat nicht mal die Haelfte des Stoffs abgedeckt und war unverschaemt detailliert. Naja, alles motzen hilft nix. Ich war wohl schlecht vorbereitet.

Just finished Software Engineering 1 - it was catastrophic. The exam didn't cover half of the topics we've had during the year and the questions demanded ridiculous details. Well, whinging won't help. I just wasn't prepared well enough.

Hab' gerade ein 30-minuetiges Telefongespraech mit einem der Hardware-Chefs von Google IE beendet. Netter Typ. Dieser Job (falls ich ihn kriege) wird jedenfalls anders als alles was ich in den letzten paar Jahren gemacht habe - mehr ein Job wie in den Tagen des guten alten BNB.
Jetzt bleibt mir nur zu warten ;-)

Okay, ich muss zurueck an die Buecher. Morgen steht die Hammer-Klausur in software engineering 1 an.

Just finished an half-hour phone call with one of the Google IE hardware managers. Friendly chap. The job won't be like anything I've done recently but it is pretty much like what I did in the good old days of the BNB (admin office of the citizen net Hof). Now all I need to do is wait (c:

Right, I have got to go back to the books now. The monster exam software engineering 1 is on tomorrow.

Job Search ... my phone doesn't stop ringing

Mann oh Mann, den ganzen Tag schon klingelt mein Handy, Jobagentur so und so, Firma so und so ... koennen die nicht bis nach den Pruefungen warten ;-)

Na mal sehen, ein paar interessante Jobs sind ja schon dabei. Ich halte Euch auf dem Laufenden.

Clean sweep - or: Everything just to get our deposits back...

Gestern haben wir grossen Hausputz in Southern Gardens 22 veranstaltet. Irgendwann diese Woche fuehrt die Landlady die Uebergabe durch und bis dahin muss alles blitzen und blinken, sonst wird die Kaution schmerzlich geschroepft. Entsprechend haben wir gestern geschrubbt, poliert, gespachtelt and gemalert. Sind ein paar lustige Bilder dabei herausgekommen.

Es ist schon irgendwie komisch, dass bald alles vorbei sein soll. Aber so ist das Leben.

Yesterday we cleaned our gaff because later this week the landlady will do the last inspection and in order for us to get our deposits back, the house has to be spotless. So we washed, cleaned, sweeped and polished. I took a good few funny pics.

Strange somehow - thinking about it that it is all going to be over soon. But that's life.

Das Beste an der Party war eigentlich der Vermieter des entsprechenden Hauses "Frank the D€lan€y", als er ins Haus kam und die Waende hoch ging.

Ich werd ihn vermissen, den "craic" in Carlow.
